Arizona State Council Knights of Columbus - Fraternal Year 2021-2022
Sorry for the delay in getting this information out to everyone. The reason is that we had two problems that we were dealing with after the raffle
1) The Access database that was used to record raffle results the last couple of years is broken. We didn't know about it until Friday night at the Convention. Thus all of the information gathered from all the councils had to be entered into a massive spreadsheet. To give you an idea: you know your spreadsheet is big if the last entry for a line is in column BV. We then had to go back and audit our results to make sure we entered everything correctly.
The State Secretary and State Treasurer have a copy of the spreadsheet now and are starting to put together the vouchers so they can print out the checks for everyone's charities and get them back to the councils as soon as possible.
2) We need to contact and speak with all 10 raffle winners before we can release any names. One of the winners took until last Saturday (5/29) to finally call us back.
So now for the results!!!!!
First of all congratulations to all councils who did such a fantastic job selling tickets this year. When I gave our presentation during the State Convention I admitted I didn't know what to expect this year thanks to all the Covid related issues and shut downs from 2020/2021. I prayed that we would at least break even as a State and not lose money.
Man were we surprised! I hoped for big things after a few councils asked for more tickets in the spring.
At the dinner I announced our Grand Total at the time.
After double checking the massive spreadsheet we realized we forgot a few checks that had to be returned to a council because the checks were written to them instead of the State.
So adding them in the final total for 2021 is
Thank you again for everyone that worked so hard! Our charities will be so happy!

Reminder: If a winner does not turn in their W-9 paperwork they cannot be awarded the prize even though their name has been published.

Thank you again to our Worthy State Deputy and fellow State Officers for entrusting Joe Curran, Phil Vicinanza and myself with running the State Raffle this year. We have committed to being involved again next year where we hope to make things even better for all of us - remembering that the most important thing is to maximize the giving to all of our charities.
