Arizona State Council Knights of Columbus - Fraternal Year 2024-2025
Work with your Council and parish to schedule Membership Drives, then add the Membership Drives to the State events calendar at kofc-az.org/events-calendar.
Before the Membership Drive, every Knight should do some self thought. They should think about what being a Knight of Columbus means to them, what the Order has brought to their and their families lives. Then come up with a 30-second version of that. Then a 2-minute version and a 5-minute version.
Your 30-second version is for the man coming out of church who seems willing to briefly talk with you, as he is walking by.
Your 2-minute version is for the man who stops to engage in that conversation.
Your 5-minute version is for the man who stops by the table to talk with the Knights.
When asking a man to join the Knights of Columbus, do so by initiating a conversation. Ask him a question like, "What do you know about the Knights of Columbus?" This initiates a response and opens the door for a conversation.
Do not ask questions like, "Do you want to join the Knights?" or "Do you want to hear about the Knights?" because the answer to these questions is "No."
Instead, ask him what he knows about the Knights. If he is responsive, you have an opportunity to start the conversation a few ways (some suggestions listed below), but make it your conversation, something that you are comfortable talking about.
In 1882, Blessed McGivney started the Knights to aid widows and children and to bring men back to the church and help them grow their relationship with God.
There are over 18,000 Knights in Arizona who are becoming better men, better husbands, better fathers, better Catholics by living their lives with a strong base in the pillars of the Knights of Columbus, Charity, Unity, Fraternity and Patriotism.
That the Knights of Columbus have over 2 million Knights around the world who are holding strong to Blessed McGivney's purposes today.
You can talk with him about your experiences with the Knights of Columbus and what your membership brings to your life.
You can talk with him about your local council's activities and charities that your council supports.
Hand him a pamphlet or a few pamphlets. Some suggested pamphlets, in English and Spanish are:

Try to not let him walk away without joining.
Always be positive. Always be inviting. Always be recruiting.
